Can give up any prepared spell (but not level 0 spells) to cast "Summon Nature’s ally 1" (as a claric can give up spells to cast cure wounds or inflict wounds spells)... You can summon anything on the list on page 288 (english player’s handbook)... There are just a few animals... DIRE RAT; EAGLE; MONKEY; OCTOPUS; OWL; PORPOISE; SMALL VIPER or WOLF... Going on with levels and gaining new spell levels you can cast greater "Summon Nature’s ally spells" according to the proper rules simply giving up a prepared spell...
