¿Escenario de campaña propio o prefabricado?

As a matter of fact I like playing in a camapaign setting wich is "prefabricado"... I prefer this because I know what I can and can not do with my charchter as far as prestige classes, homeland, religions and so on...

While beeing a DM I really don’t know if I prefer an official campaign setting (such as Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance) mainly for the reasons I told you before, and because my players also know better the world; or if I prefer my own campaign settings.. which are a surprise for palyers but which sometimes get boring in too short time...
